McDonald's (MCD $89.26 +2.72) reported second quarter earnings of
$1.35 per share, $0.07 better than the Capital IQ Consensus Estimate of $1.28.
Revenues rose 16.1% year/year to $6.91 billion versus the $6.66 bln consensus.
The company, "Global comparable sales increased 5.6%, with the U.S. up 4.5%,
Europe up 5.9% and Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa up 5.2%. "As we begin
the third quarter, our momentum continues with July global comparable sales
expected to be between 4 and 5%."
